Growing up in Victoria, Dawson Creek, and Prince George, BC, Dr. Antosz had no idea that he ever wanted to be an orthodontist. He spent his time with his eyes on the stars, building rockets and dreaming of being an astronaut (believe it or not). He still remembers sitting down with his father, a pharmacist and son of a poor but happy Polish immigrant and cook on the CN trains, in Grade 12 to talk about what to do with his life. After discussing journalism, medicine, pharmacy and teaching, his father suggested dentistry - which young Mark had never thought about. Over the next few years, after some research and spending time with their family dentist, Mark was intrigued and motivated. Hard work and study paid off and he was accepted to the UBC Faculty of Dentistry after only 3 years of undergraduate education - and the rest is history! Interestingly, it was 25 years later that his father finally said that HE had always wanted to become a dentist, but they couldnʼt afford the tuition and he ended up in pharmacy instead. But never had he pushed Dr. Antosz in that direction - a mild nudge in Grade 12 was all it took.

Dr. Antosz received his Doctor of DentalMedicine degree from the University of British Columbia in 1980. He was in general practice of dentistry in Dawson Creek, BC for 5 years, and received a Medical Research Council of Canada Fellowship to enter a combined specialty/Ph.D. program at the University of Toronto in 1985. He and his wife Brenda packed their belongings and 1-year-old son and headed to Ontario. After 4 years of hard work, study and research, they headed back west (along with 2 more sons) to one of their favourite cities, Calgary, where Brenda had lived and attended school in the past. Dr. Antosz began practice as a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics in 1988, and has been in his current location since 1990.

Dr. Antosz has been relentless in his efforts to provide the most advanced and effective care possible, and to this day continues to keep with up the ever-changing world of technology and orthodontics through a host of training and educational programs. Through all this constant change and development, he has remained dedicated to providing a comfortable and caring environment for his patients and their families.

And yes, if youʼve noticed the photos on this site, he still enjoys the worlds of Marvel and DC Comics and science fiction; and that crazy collection of statues, lightsabers and paintings is there because... well, he thinks itʼs cool.
